Proposed revised Review of Safeguarding Policy and Volunteer Management Policy
Proposed revised Review of Safeguarding Policy and Volunteer Management Policy – for consultation
Please find draft revised Braunstone Town Council policy documents below for consultation:
The current Safeguarding Policy was adopted in January 2013, the Volunteer Management Policy is a new policy. Both documents have been reviewed by the Town Council’s Management Team and Policy & Resources Committee to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
The proposed Safeguarding Children & Child Protection Policy has been reviewed in respect of child safeguarding and also incorporates guidance relating to vulnerable adults. This has become appropriate due to the pending transfer of Braunstone Town Library to the Town Council’s Management in the autumn.
The proposed Volunteer Management Policy sets out processes for dealing with recruitment, complaints & disputes and expenses. It is proposed that the new policy will be generic for all of the Town Council’s activities where volunteers are involved.
The proposed policy documents are the subject of consultation with staff, Councillors and partners. The purpose of this consultation is to enable you to:
- challenge whether the proposed policies are fit for purpose,
- put forward any alternative proposals and suggestions, and
- discuss how the proposed policies may impact on your role and responsibilities.
Please submit your consultation responses by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
The deadline for consultation responses is 12noon on Monday 30th September.
Once the consultation has been completed Policy & Resources Committee on 31st October will consider all points raised and determine the revised policies for adoption, it is proposed the new policies would be implemented to take effect from Monday 4th November.
